Coffin Creek hosted another strong sale at our 6th Annual Bull Sale. With by far the largest crowd to date, bulls were very well received with 36 bulls selling to a top of $14,000 at an average of $7694. As always, buyers competed hard for the younger draft of bulls, whose group averaged a touch under $8000. It was great to see so many bulls go to new homes, including commercial operations at Ben Lomond, Buladelah, Willow Tree and Cassilis. Long time clients, the Pemberton Family, paid $12,000 for the outstanding young sire Lot 8 M61 who weighed 720kgs at 16 months of age. Repeat buyer Dick Croake, representing FM & MH Blackwell, paid the top price of the day; $14,000 for Lot 9, Coffin Creek Mudgee M73. Both the high selling bulls were sons of Coffin Creek Joker J202 who topped our sale in 2015. Repeat, volume buyers took bulls to Molong, Merriwa and Rylstone Districts. The commercial EU Heifers on offer topped at $1550/head to an average of $1372. A fantastic sale for us here, and great to see plenty of our long term clients buying good quality, affordable Angus bulls.
